HAND PAINTING KITCHEN CABINETS

Our client contacted us to update the colour of her kitchen cabinets. The kitchen was 25 years old but in good condition and of good quality so an update of colour was all that was needed.

The handles were removed from all the cabinets. The wooden worktops were then sanded back and covered to allow the painting process to begin. All of the drawers were thoroughly cleaned and degreased, then sanded to allow the paint to adhere to the surfaces. The cabinets were then filled where required and caulked to clean the lines. We then painted the cabinets with the relevant undercoat. Our client chose a Farrow and Ball shade for the units. We had this colour mixed in Mylands Paint, which is very hard wearing and perfect for kitchen cabinets. Two coats of top coat were painted onto the cabinets, with a gentle sand in between coats for a super smooth result. We updated the handles to finish the look.
